FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the Recommended Dietary Allowance for Electrolytes?

Unbox Health FAQ Icon

Most Electrolyte products contain both Sodium & Potassium, and some may contain others minerals as well. There are no RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) guidelines for Electrolytes. There are RDAs defined by the NIN & WHO for specific minerals like Sodium & Potassium - an average 2000Kcal diet per day should consist of no more than 2000mg of Sodium and 3510mg of Potassium. These limits may be higher for adults pursuing an active lifestyle. On Unbox Health, Electrolyte dosage brackets are defined based on the Total Sodium & Potassium content (per serving) claimed on a product's label: Low (0-300mg), Medium (300-600mg), High (600-1200mg), Very High (1200+ mg).
